About The Position

We are seeking a motivated candidate who is proficient in DNA, RNA, cell culture and animal methods. The successful candidate will be capable of investigating the role of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) or human papillomavirus (HPV) in its associated human cancers.

Requirements

• Proficiency in DNA, RNA, cell culture, and animal methods.
• Proficiency in cellular/molecular biology as well as small-animal research skills and advanced experimental techniques.
• Good computer skills, including an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or Power Point software applications.
• Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Investigating the role of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) or human papillomavirus (HPV) in its associated human cancers.
• Performing methodologies including next-generation DNA/RNA-sequencing, FISH analysis, mutagenesis, cloning, RNA and DNA preparation, FACS analysis, cell-based assays including western blotting, co-IP, cell proliferation/growth, manipulation of cell culture, immunofluorescence staining and comparative in vivo approaches.
• Giving oral presentations of experimental results in lab meetings and research conferences.
• Instructing graduate and undergraduate students in the lab, as needed.
• Reviewing journal manuscripts and providing critiques.
