About The Position

This is a one or two-year residential, full-time postdoctoral fellowship appointment starting in July 2027. The fellowship includes a stipend of $60,000 annually, plus benefits. Travel and moving expenses are not supported. In addition to their planned research, fellows must be prepared to carry out either program administration or adjunct teaching responsibilities. Specific responsibilities will be defined jointly during the initial phase of the appointment.

Requirements

Must plan to complete their Ph.D. no later than May 2027.
Recent graduates with no longer than three years since receiving their Ph.D. are especially encouraged to apply.
Application must include a curriculum vitae.
Application must include a cover letter describing research interests and intended research at CIPR if selected, fit to the program and teaching experience.
Application must include a graduate transcript.
Application must include a writing sample.
Application must include teaching evaluations if available.
Indicate who recommenders will be (letters of recommendation will be requested only for finalists).

Responsibilities

Carry out program administration or adjunct teaching responsibilities.
In the program administration track, work with CIPR's director in ongoing research initiatives (Central American Politics Consortium and/or Research Group MEGA: Mobilization, Extractivism, and Government Action), or develop programmatic content and projects in Inter-American relations, comparative political economy, citizenship rights, human development, and others.
For fellowships with teaching responsibilities, teach one course per semester in the department of the fellow's primary discipline and in the candidate's major subfields.
