The fellow’s main research project would be part of a funded 5-year grant from the NIMH focused on the neural basis of depression. Successful applicants will use nonhuman primate behavior, electrophysiological recordings, chemogenetic activation, fMRI, and deep brain stimulation to investigate the how frontal cortex and interconnected structures are involved in controlling affective behavior in the context of depression.
