About The Position

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Tulane University based in historic Uptown New Orleans. The postdoctoral researcher will work with Dr. Matthew Montemore’s group to study and design catalysts and other materials for energy applications, using a variety of computational techniques including density functional theory. Collaboration with other research groups, especially experimental groups, is expected. The fellow will also contribute to mentoring graduate and undergraduate students within the research group. Multiple active projects led by Dr. Montemore on computational design of catalysts and other materials are currently supported by the National Science Foundation.

Requirements

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or several of the following areas: density functional theory, computational materials science, high-performance computing.
  • Excellent written communication skills demonstrated by prior publications.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with computational catalysis, machine learning, time-dependent density functional theory, programming.
  • Experience collaborating with experimental researchers.
