About The Position

A postdoctoral position is available in the Tulane University Department of Pharmacology to conduct NIH-funded research on estrogen receptor signal transduction, aging, and arterial stiffening. The laboratory of Dr. Sarah Lindsey takes an integrative approach by utilizing in vitro cell culture, ex vivo isolated vessels, and in vivo analysis of rodent models. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will independently conduct experiments to determine how sex hormones impact mitochondrial function and cardiometabolic health.

Requirements

  • Experience with ultrasound imaging.
  • Experience working with rodent models.
  • Experience with mitochondrial function techniques.
  • Strong background in cardiovascular sciences.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise with microphysiological systems.
  • Expertise with interactions with immune and adipose tissues.
  • Experience in the molecular signaling pathways of estrogen.

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct experiments to determine how sex hormones impact mitochondrial function and cardiometabolic health.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Compose manuscripts for publication.
  • Write and submit grants.
  • Supervise and train students in lab techniques and experiments.
  • Help with lab maintenance and ordering of supplies.
