About The Position

Genentech’s Pharma Technical Development Purification Robotics & Modeling group is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to investigate, implement, and optimize high throughput miniaturized screening platforms to accelerate purification process development. This postdoctoral project aims to significantly enhance development efficiency and reduce cycle time by developing high-throughput, low-mass screening techniques for assessing resin binding of hundreds of therapeutic products at a time. This project will explore and validate miniaturized approaches to characterize interactions between chromatography resins, candidate molecules, and their variants, enabling earlier assessment and rapid generation of process information. This early assessment will enable stronger connections between molecular design and process development, where the postdoctoral fellow can help support optimal design of candidate molecules with reduced manufacturability risks. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts across the organization in automation, process development, analytics, modeling, and research, opening new areas of investigation when the opportunity arises. The broad exposure the candidate will experience will help to define and guide their career path.
