About The Position

The Laboratory of Jonathan D. Licht, M.D., in the Van Andel Institute (VAI) Department of Epigenetics is seeking to hire a highly motivated full-time Postdoctoral Fellow. The Licht Lab focuses on epigenetic and gene expression regulators as drivers of cancer. Current projects include the study of histone fold mutations in solid tumors and the role of epigenetic and splicing regulators in the pathogenesis of multiple myeloma. Postdoctoral Fellows are scientific leaders in the lab. You will design and execute research projects, analyze and interpret data, and drive manuscripts and presentations. You will also contribute to a collaborative team environment and receive mentorship tailored to your career goals in academia, industry, or related fields. VAI provides access to outstanding core facilities and professional development resources. The Licht Lab participates in VAI’s Cancer Epigenetics Training Program, supported by an NIH T32 training grant. Eligible candidates interested in this program are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field
• Strong record of rigorous and productive research (e.g., publications, preprints)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in high-throughput genomic and epigenomic experimentation and bioinformatic analysis
• Experience with animal models of cancer
