Prof. Giedroc seeks a postdoctoral research associate as a member of multidisciplinary team of students and Ph.D.-level staff tasked with obtaining a molecular understanding bacterial sulfur metabolism and mechanisms of hydrogen sulfide (H2S)/reactive sulfur species (RSS) homeostasis in strict anaerobes. We seek to appoint a postdoctoral trainee to conduct microbiological, biochemical and structural studies of proteins involved in bacterial sulfur metabolism and hydrogen sulfide (H2S)/reactive sulfur species (RSS) homeostasis. This project benefits strongly from long-standing pathogenesis collaborators at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The position is supported by an existing NIH grant to Prof. Giedroc, and support is provided for up to three years pending satisfactory research progress by the successful candidate.
