The Klarman Fellowship is a postdoctoral research program within the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard’s GaMBiT Initiative. The initiative works to bridge the gap between genetic discoveries and therapeutic interventions by scaling experiments that clarify disease mechanisms, identifying biomarkers to measure those mechanisms, building computational frameworks that connect human genetics data with experiments, and developing therapeutic approaches to remediate discovered mechanisms. The fellowship welcomes computational and experimental researchers interested in developing and applying technologies relevant to the GaMBiT mission. Research may involve areas such as statistical and computational genetics, cellular and organismal biology, immunology, metabolomics, proteomics, protein structure, and chemistry. Roles may include large-scale analyses across biobanks, integration of study data into disease genome maps, tools that help experimentalists access disease-specific genomic information, AI agents that interpret genetic data using biological knowledge from literature, scalable editing of human cell types, single-cell profiling of proteins and other molecular features, and development of human genetics-derived cellular models and patient-tissue organoids. Postdoctoral associates will be based at the Broad Institute and work with a mentor or co-mentors from Broad-, MIT-, or Harvard-affiliated faculty. The appointment is for one year, beginning on or after January 1, 2027, or another mutually agreed date, with the possibility of a second year based on satisfactory performance. Application review begins on a rolling basis after September 30, 2026. Visa sponsorship is offered.
