The Postdoctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community. The successful candidate will lead a project investigating the immune mechanisms involved in cardiac and vascular remodeling in heart failure. Key responsibilities and qualifications include designing and executing in vitro and in vivo experiments in collaboration with immunology and cardiovascular physiology teams. Techniques will include molecular and cellular immunological and physiological approaches, mouse models of disease, primary cell culture from mouse and human tissues, and analysis of existing data sets. The role also involves analyzing data, presenting findings at internal and external scientific meetings, preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, and developing and writing fellowship proposals. Additionally, the Postdoctoral Associate will contribute to mentoring of trainees and fostering a collaborative, respectful, and welcoming lab environment, while keeping track of data, protocols, and overall progress in updated laboratory notebooks and data folders shared with the laboratory manager and Principal Investigator. Mining large sequencing data sets is also a key function.
