The Postdoctoral Associate will conduct research as part of an NIDDK-funded project investigating the mechanisms by which physical exercise preserves pancreatic beta-cell function and mass. The candidate will perform and coordinate studies using mouse models of exercise training, including metabolic phenotyping, glucose homeostasis assessments, pancreatic islet isolation and functional studies. The position will also involve molecular and cellular analyses of pancreatic islets, including gene and protein expression studies and integration of multi-omics datasets to identify exercise-responsive pathways. The Postdoctoral Associate will analyze and interpret experimental data, contribute to the development of new experimental approaches, prepare manuscripts and scientific presentations, and participate in the training and supervision of students and other laboratory personnel.
