Part Time Postal Clerk
About The Position
We are currently seeking a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused Postal Clerk to join our retail postal services team. The successful candidate will provide efficient, courteous, and professional service to all customers while supporting daily postal operations within a retail environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. The position is part-time and on-call, with scheduled hours of approximately 10 hours per week following successful completion of the training period.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service role within a retail environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills
- Successful candidates must pass pre-employment assessments
- Security screening is required prior to employment
- Interview participation is mandatory as part of the selection process

- Prior sales experience
- Experience operating a computerized POS system
- Familiarity with postal or logistics services
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional customer service and respond to inquiries about postal products and services
- Operate a computerized point-of-sale (POS) system and process cash, debit, credit, and cheque transactions accurately
- Receive, sort, and prepare mail and parcels for processing and dispatch
- Handle and lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs) safely
- Maintain stocked, organized, and visually presentable retail displays
- Support inventory control, including stocking, rotation, and basic stock counts
- Maintain knowledge of postal procedures, products, and service standards
- Follow all safety, security, and operational procedures in the workplace
