About The Position

The youth department at Booker T. Washington Community Service Center (BTWCSC) is informed by the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom School® model, centering identity development, critical consciousness, leadership, and collective responsibility. The Post-Secondary Success Coordinator approaches college and career readiness through a strengths-based, healing-centered, and liberation-focused lens, recognizing the historical and systemic barriers many Black, low-income, and first-generation students face. BTWCSC seeks a reliable, collaborative, and results-driven professional to help meet ambitious operational targets and sustain growth as it expands youth programming to better support Transitional Age Youth (TAY). This role is critical in supporting high school, post-secondary, and TAY participants, some of whom may have experienced homelessness, as they prepare for and successfully transition into college, career training programs, employment, or independent living. The Coordinator partners closely with teachers, youth coordinators, case managers, families, and external organizations to ensure students receive consistent, culturally affirming, high-quality guidance throughout their post-secondary journey. The role emphasizes belonging, persistence, and long-term success, ensuring students and families have trusted relationships, culturally relevant resources, and sustained support while navigating complex education and workforce systems and remaining connected to community, culture, and self-determination. The position reports to the BTWCSC Teen/TAY Manager.
