About The Position

The Post Process Technician is responsible for trimming and manicuring cannabis flower. This position works under the supervision of the Post Process Team Lead and reports directly to the Production Manager. The role involves precise hand-snipping of undesirable leaves, removing dried buds from stems, and sorting/grading buds into quality categories. The technician will also operate and maintain department equipment, assist with training new hires, and ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a continuous state of alertness to ensure the highest safety standards and staying knowledgeable about state and local laws pertaining to adult-use marijuana.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of cannabis plant.
  • Knowledge & understanding of state and local cannabis laws and how they apply to the operations of Lazy River Products.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others and multitasking.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and comply with all legal or company regulation requirements for working in the industry.
  • Ability to work holidays outside of Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
  • Reliable transportation.

  • Previous Massachusetts cannabis industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Precisely hand-snipping undesirable fan leaves, while maintaining quality assurance of each trimmed bud.
  • Removing dried buds from the stems (bucking the plant).
  • Sorting and grading buds into categories such as A-quality, popcorn/pre-roll or B-quality, and C-quality or lab grade.
  • Operating and maintaining the department’s equipment as needed.
  • Bucking freshly harvested plant for fresh frozen extracts.
  • Destruction of unusable plant waste products, such as stems or leaves.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all post process bins, tools, and equipment.
  • Regular workstation cleaning using rubbing alcohol.
  • Assist management with training new hires.
  • Wearing PPE/uniform at all times when working.
  • Maintain a continuous state of alertness to ensure the highest safety standards for fellow employees, products, and the facility.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge on state and local laws pertaining to adult-use marijuana and dispensing adult-use marijuana.
  • Follows established LRP policies and procedures, and contributes to the development of new concepts, policies, and procedures as necessary to perform job duties and tasks.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
