Post Doctoral Scholar - Comprehensive Cancer Center
About The Position
We invite you to apply for a Post Doctoral Scholar position to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of Dr. Deepti Mathur, Ph.D. As part of the Department of Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, our goal is to use the lens of metabolism to better understand and predict cancer progression. We use a combination of experimental and clinical data paired with computational analyses to model tumor evolution. We seek a postdoctoral candidate who will apply a combination of molecular biology and engineering methods to understand how metabolic spatial structure affects cancer progression, using specialized microfluidic chambers.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in biomedical engineering or similar is required.
- Has experience with basic molecular and cell biology techniques including mammalian cell culture, western blot, PCR, microscopy.
- Has experience with the creation and implementation of microfluidics.
- Has intellectual expertise in cancer biology.
- Can conduct sophisticated data analysis using MATLAB and GraphPad Prism.
- Can create figures in Adobe Illustrator.
- Collaborates well with others and has strong communication abilities.
- Has experience writing manuscripts and preparing presentations.
Nice To Haves
- Has experience with metabolic assays.
- Can perform basic mathematical modeling using ODEs.
- Has experience writing grant proposals and reviewing papers.
