Post Doctoral Scholar
About The Position
The Department of Physics at The Ohio State University is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to work on particle astrophysics experimental analysis, with a focus on RNO-G, ARA, and other ground-based radio detectors under the supervision of Dr. Kaeli Hughes. The successful candidate will have experience with analysis techniques on large-scale radio instruments, familiarity with tools such as ROOT, python, and slurm job submission, strong communication skills, a willingness to learn and try new things, and an interest in mentoring junior scientists. Some experience with building and testing hardware is also a benefit.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics, or on track to complete by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated independence and exceptional ability in research.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with a diverse group of people.
- Demonstrated mentorship, science-communication and outreach.
- Experience with analysis techniques on large-scale radio instruments.
- Familiarity with tools such as ROOT, python, and slurm job submission.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and try new things.
- Interest in mentoring junior scientists.
