The McGuire Lab is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to assist with the development of vaccines against human oncoviruses. Requirements

  • Must hold PhD in immunology, microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience with both murine and non-human primate challenge models.
  • Experience with analyzing viral-host protein interactions.
  • Experience with mice and other small animal models.
  • Experience with mammalian tissue culture.
  • Experience with serological assays including neutralization assays.
  • Experience with coordinating projects across institutes.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in mentoring junior scientists is preferred.
  • Experience with flow cytometry is desirable.
  • The candidate should have a proven track record of publication and strong written communication skills.
  • Must be independent, show initiative, willingness to take up new skills and responsibilities, and be a team player.
  • The candidate must be self-motivated, able to multitask and to work within a very collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze antibody and T cell responses to immunization
  • Develop animal challenge models to assess vaccine efficacy
  • Perform data analysis and prepare reports/manuscripts
  • Other duties as assigned.
