The Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) at the University of Virginia (UVA) and the School of Education and Human Development is seeking a qualified Post-Doctoral Research Associate for the Active Playful Learning (APL) Project, funded by the LEGO Foundation. This project involves an educational intervention where teachers are encouraged to use active and engaging instructional methods through workshops and coaching. The position is suitable for individuals with statistical expertise in developmental science or educational psychology, particularly those interested in research on classroom and instructional contexts that support social-emotional development, as well as behavioral and academic outcomes. The role requires expertise in longitudinal data analysis and economic quasi-experimental methods like propensity score analysis. The Research Associate will apply and extend their skills in a school-based intervention aimed at increasing active, engaging instruction across multiple sites. Opportunities to lead and co-author peer-reviewed papers using project data and related datasets will be provided. The position is eligible for hybrid work according to UVA's flex-work guidelines.
