About The Position
The Center for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, a NSF funded Materials Research Science and Engineering Center, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This position involves AI-assisted simulations of quantum materials under the supervision of Prof. Konstantinos Vogiatzis (Department of Chemistry) and Prof. Adrian Del Maestro (Department of Physics) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The researcher will have a primary appointment in the Department of Chemistry. All candidates must have successfully defended and submitted their dissertation before their employment date. The search begins immediately and continues until the position is filled.
Requirements
- Successfully defended and submitted dissertation before employment date.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy hybrid AI-assisted theoretical/computational modeling of quantum materials.
- Collaborate with researchers from Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Electrical Engineering.
- Engage in feedback loops between theory and experiment.
- Evaluate quantum materials design & growth.
- Utilize spectroscopy techniques such as neutron scattering and photoemission.
