About The Position
The Center for Renewable Carbon at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate for an NSF Engine Funded Project focused on Lignin Foam Products. This role involves experiment design, data analysis, report writing, and publication. The initial appointment is for 12 months with potential for renewal based on performance, funding, and programmatic needs. The position is grant-funded and contingent upon continued funding. The work location is onsite in the labs on the campus of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture in Knoxville, TN.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in chemistry, polymer science, wood science, composite, or a closely related field completed before the position start date.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Assist in an NSF Engine’s funded project, with an emphasis on the Lignin Foam Products.
- Research responsibilities will include experiment design, data analysis, report, publication, and other related work.
- Work with the whole project team.
