The Joshi lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to study the biogenesis of membrane-bound organelles such as lipid droplets and peroxisomes. The research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of organelle biogenesis from the ER membrane using budding yeast and mammalian cell culture. This project involves characterizing ER subdomains, identifying their protein and lipid composition, and studying membrane curvature induced by ER shaping proteins using Cryo-EM. The lab utilizes yeast and mammalian cell culture systems, advanced microscopy techniques, live-cell imaging, and various biochemical and molecular biology methods. This is a grant-funded position contingent upon continued grant funding.
