The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a Post Doctoral Psychology Resident to join their Wellness Center Mental Health Services team. Requirements

  • Must have an active master’s degree in psychology.
  • Must have experience working in a college or university counseling center.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising mental health trainees is preferred.
  • Training and experience with psychological and neuropsychological assessments is preferred.
  • Highly qualified applicants will have experience with the assessment and treatment of addictions and eating disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Providing psychotherapy (individual, couple/family, group) and other forms of psychological support to UCCS students.
  • Providing clinical supervision to WCMHS trainees.
  • Providing campus-wide psychoeducation/outreach sessions on various relevant topics.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and crisis interventions in person.
  • Providing consultation opportunities for other campus units and individuals on campus, participating as needed.
  • Providing clinical psychology and counseling services to UCCS students whose personal/emotional life is interfering with their ability to perform academically.
  • Responding to psychological crises/emergency calls to the WCMHS; being available to make assessments; and carrying out crisis interventions.
  • Whenever there are mandatory referrals from other offices in the university for services (i.e. education/outreach, counseling, and evaluations), providing the required support service and/or assisting other clinicians or staff in carrying out the request as needed.
  • Whenever clinically necessary, making appropriate referrals to the case manager for on- and off-campus services and being available to contribute to case consultations with these agencies.
  • Sharing the responsibilities for the review of applications and interviews, and the clinical supervision load of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows from psychology, social work programs and counseling programs with other clinicians at the center.
  • Assisting in and contributing to the operations of the WCMHS.
  • Assisting in the duties of the WCMHS staff when necessary.
  • Attending all staff meetings and administrative meetings related to position responsibilities.
  • Assisting the Wellness Promotion Team with campus-wide education and prevention programs.
  • Assisting in efforts to address the developmental needs of the campus.
  • Assisting, taking part, and supporting community projects in which WCMHS is involved.
  • Assisting, taking part, and supporting community projects that UCCS is involved in.
