About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a Post Doctoral Psychology Resident to join the Wellness Center Mental Health Services team. This role involves providing psychotherapy and psychological support to students, supervising trainees, conducting psychoeducation sessions, and performing risk assessments and crisis interventions. UCCS is committed to academic excellence and student success, situated in a vibrant city at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The position offers a salary range of $45,636.00 - $58,885.00 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from overtime provisions.

Requirements

  • Active Doctoral degree in psychology.
  • Experience working in a college or university counseling center.
  • Completion of an Authorization to Release Information and provision of contact information for previous institutions for misconduct history check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising mental health trainees.
  • Training and experience with psychological and neuropsychological assessments.
  • Experience with the assessment and treatment of addictions and eating disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Providing psychotherapy (individual, couple/family, group) and other forms of psychological support to UCCS students.
  • Providing clinical supervision to WCMHS trainees.
  • Providing campus-wide psychoeducation/outreach sessions on various relevant topics.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and crisis interventions in person.
  • Providing consultation opportunities for other campus units and individuals on campus, participating as needed.
  • Responding to psychological crises/emergency calls to the WCMHS and making assessments.
  • Assisting in the duties of the WCMHS staff when necessary.
  • Attending all staff and administrative meetings related to the position's responsibilities.
  • Assisting the Wellness Promotion Team with campus-wide education and prevention programs.
  • Assisting in efforts to address the developmental needs of the campus.
  • Assisting, taking part, and supporting community projects in which WCMHS is involved.
  • Sharing responsibilities for the review of applications and interviews for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
  • Participating in the clinical supervision load of trainees with other clinicians at the center.
