Post-Doctoral Fellow - Price Lab
About The Position
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alexander Price at The Wistar Institute. The Price lab investigates cellular RNA processing events hijacked by tumor-causing viruses. Example research projects include investigating how viruses regulate expression of their own genes temporally and spatially within an infected cell, and ways in which viruses evade detection by the cellular innate immune system. The Price Lab is located at the Wistar Institute, a world leader in early-stage discovery science in cancer, immunology, and infectious disease. The Wistar Institute is located in the University City area of Philadelphia, in the heart of the University of Pennsylvania Campus. Requirements
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree
- Strong background in molecular biology techniques.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with RNA sequencing
- Experience with third generation long-read sequencing technologies (Oxford Nanopore)
- Experience with confocal microscopy
- Previous experience utilizing human viruses
- Strong interest in gene regulation
- Strong interest in RNA biology
- Strong interest in RNA/Protein interactions
- Strong interest in fluorescent microscopy
- Strong interest in sequencing technologies
- Strong interest in molecular virology
