About The Position

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kavitha Sarma. The Sarma lab investigates mechanisms of gene regulation through RNA-containing chromatin using neurodifferentiation and cancer models. Candidates with strong interest in gene regulation, chromatin architecture, epigenetic mechanisms, and non-coding RNA biology are encouraged to apply. The lab is a core member of the Penn Epigenetics Institute which allows interactions and collaborations with many scientists with shared research interests. Requirements

• PhD (or equivalent) degree.
• At least one first author peer-reviewed publication.
• Strong interest in gene regulation, chromatin architecture, epigenetic mechanisms, and non-coding RNA biology.
• Experience in performing and analyzing data from genomic experiments such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN.

Responsibilities

• Investigate mechanisms of gene regulation through RNA-containing chromatin using neurodifferentiation and cancer models.
• Perform and analyze data from genomic experiments such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN.
• Conduct research in a collaborative environment with scientists from the Penn Epigenetics Institute.
• Contribute to the Wistar Institute's mission of accelerating research advances from bench to bedside.
