We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our research team to investigate alpha-synuclein conformational diversity mechanisms. The successful candidate will lead independent research projects while contributing to collaborative studies in a dynamic laboratory environment. Designs and evaluates experiments. Develops new ideas that promote current research. Design and execute in vitro studies utilizing cell culture models to investigate alpha-synuclein. Conduct proteomic experiments with appropriate biosafety protocols and containment procedures. Perform molecular biology and proteomic methodologies. Analyze and interpret complex datasets using appropriate statistical methods and bioinformatics tools. Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams and maintain detailed laboratory records. Stay current with literature and contribute to grant writing efforts. Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May be responsible for operation of specific equipment. May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee. The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available. Appointments cannot exceed five years.
