About The Position

The Imaging Core within the Emory National Primate Research Center at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, is currently seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow to join our team. Our work consists of performing scans on the Bruker MRI for funded projects, developing a novel MRI sequence on the Bruker and Siemens systems, performing image analysis of both preclinical and clinical data, writing manuscripts and presentations, and helping with grant writing. The ideal candidate should be motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, have a positive attitude, and passion for research. They will be a team player who is willing to learn on the job and collaborate with lab members and center members. They will work to ensure the highest quality of laboratory research support and have good communication skills with co-workers, the management team, PIs, research staff, students, and other support services. Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field.
  • Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
  • Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Bruker, Siemens, or GE MRI scanners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Helps design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career.
  • Designs and evaluates experiments.
  • Develops new ideas that promote current research.
  • Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
  • May be responsible for operation of specific equipment.
  • May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff.
