About The Position

The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow should hold a research doctorate and have experience working in a laboratory setting. Our laboratory is interested in experimental pediatric heart transplantation. The Post Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments. Operations involving open heart surgery are led by a surgeon with clinical training, who will work with the Post-Doctoral Fellow. The Post Doctoral Fellow would be required to work independently on research projects and prepare manuscripts for publication. This position will also attend daily clinical rounds to interact with the clinically active members of the laboratory. Our laboratory is well-funded. The ideal candidate would still be interested in obtaining grant funding to achieve career progression to faculty or staff scientist.

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in biomedical science or related field required.
• Must have knowledge in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cancer Biology, tissue culture, and microscopy skills.
• Must have demonstrated the ability to independently design and successfully carry out experiments in a laboratory setting.
• Must record data and report clearly on the study’s findings.
• Willing to perform animal studies.
• Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
