The Department of Surgery, McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, is seeking to fill a permanent full-time position for a Postdoctoral Associate who will focus on molecular biology, genomics, and transduction mechanisms. The postdoc will assist the laboratory in developing techniques and materials that promote the regeneration and constructive remodeling of mammalian tissues and organs. There is a strong emphasis on the extracellular matrix and its constitutive molecules as an inductive scaffold that modulates cell and molecular processes in tissue development and tissue response to injury. The individual will use techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology to evaluate the mechanisms that promote the restoration of structurally and functionally normal tissues and organs. The individual must be able to conduct independent research while collaborating with others in a large interdisciplinary laboratory. The initial appointment will be for one year with the intention of extending this position for an additional one or two years.
