About The Position
A postdoctoral associate position is immediately available at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Surgery, Pediatric Surgery Division. We are seeking a qualified applicant with a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree in a biomedical field with 0-2 years of post-doctoral experience to work under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Carolina Pinzon-Guzman. The successful Candidate will engage in intensive, mentored research as part of multidisciplinary teams in pediatric surgery and basic science, while developing increasing scientific independence.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree in a biomedical field
- 0-2 years of post-doctoral experience
- Knowledge in the biology of extracellular vesicles
- Basic immunology knowledge
- Cell and molecular biology knowledge
- Experience in cell culture
- Experience in biological imaging
- Computer abilities
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the training and mentorship of students and laboratory personnel.
- Supporting ongoing research activities as directed by the principal investigator.
- Demonstrated scholarly productivity through the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for peer‑reviewed journals and scientific conferences.
