Post Doc Research Trainee
About The Position
Assists in performing investigative research under mentorship in a particular area or areas of study. Publishes and presents data in a timely manner, works collaboratively with other investigators to facilitate scientific research and training, and participates in institute and community activities. The position operates with direct guidance, and work assignments are generally straightforward and of moderate complexity. The position is located at both Cold Spring Harbor and the Feinstein Institutes in Manhasset. Flexibility and the ability to travel between both locations are preferred.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Philosophy required.
- 0–1 years of relevant experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Strong interest in understanding disease mechanisms and a high level of scientific curiosity.
- Prior research experience in Drosophila genetics, mammalian disease models, metabolomics, cell biology, or computational biology.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and scientific communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to travel between Cold Spring Harbor and the Feinstein Institutes in Manhasset.
Responsibilities
- Performs research projects as directed and follows experimental protocols proficiently and meticulously.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets research data related to specific projects.
- Submits manuscripts and abstracts to peer-reviewed journals and presents findings at local, national, and international conferences.
- Performs administrative and research support tasks, including correspondence, attending meetings, database maintenance, and maintaining records and charts.
- Undertakes other clinical and administrative activities as needed.
- Provides technical direction to research staff.
- Performs related duties as required.
