The Rowley Lab is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Scientist to join their team within the platelet and thrombo-inflammation group at the University of Utah. The candidate will research how genetics and genomics influence platelet function, bleeding, and clot formation. The candidate will be responsible for developing and utilizing cutting-edge CRISPR /Cas9 approaches in primary human hematopoietic progenitors to evaluate gene functions and the effect of genetic variants in blood cells, including platelets and megakaryocytes. This will involve designing and conducting high throughput functional assays and pooled library screens followed by validation of findings in cell culture and mouse models. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to prepare themselves for academic or industry success through presentations, publications, grant writing, and exposure to a diverse range of scientific techniques and collaboration opportunities.
