The Post Award Accountant plays a critical role in supporting members of the BMC Department engaged in sponsored (externally funded) biomedical research. This position ensures consistent, accurate, and insightful financial reporting that strengthens the department’s robust research portfolio. Under the general supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Post Award Accountant provides expertise in purchasing, financial reporting and analysis, and faculty guidance, while actively expanding knowledge in related areas to effectively fulfill assigned responsibilities. Working collaboratively with the CAO and department faculty, the Post Award Accountant advances the broader goals of the BMC Department at UW–Madison. By supporting faculty, staff, and students in managing and stewarding their research funding, this role is essential to enabling the department’s mission. This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
