About The Position

Grant-Mill Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Atlanta. This opportunity is best suited for a confident PACU nurse with recent experience caring for higher-acuity patients following complex surgical procedures. The PACU operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and supports patients recovering from a broad range of surgical procedures. The selected nurse should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, higher-acuity recovery environment. Cases may include: Thoracic surgery, Orthopedic surgery, Neurological surgery, Vascular surgery, Urology procedures, General surgery, and Other complex, higher-acuity cases. The unit is supported by a charge nurse and supervisor. Holiday call coverage may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of recent PACU experience
• Current RN license eligible for practice in Georgia
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certification
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Experience caring for higher-acuity postoperative patients
• Cerner experience
• Ability to work 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shifts, including weekends
• Ability to begin the assignment on August 16, 2026
• Must reside more than 50 miles from Atlanta

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients during post-anesthesia recovery
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Manage airways, pain, nausea and other postoperative concerns
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses and support staff
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
• Provide safe handoffs and patient education throughout the recovery process
• Follow hospital policies, clinical standards and patient-safety procedures
