About The Position

The Point of Sale (POS) Helper maintains price integrity throughout the store and maintains the appearance and presentation of store signage and product placement to maximize the customer shopping experience. PAQ, Inc. is a 100% Employee-Owned Company consisting of 25 retail grocery stores throughout the Central Valley and Central Coast of California. Seventeen of our stores are price-impact, warehouse format under the Food 4 Less banner, and Eight are Hispanic format under the Rancho San Miguel Market banner. Requirements

  • Proficiency in basic math.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Basic computer skills for operating the POS system.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, manage multiple demands, and work effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Aptitude for making informed decisions quickly, often in high-pressure environments.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, typically 8-hour shifts.
  • Lift and carry items up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, stooping, and squatting.
  • Must operate POS systems, scanners, and labelers.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require fine motor skills, such as using a keyboard, writing, or handling small objects.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members.
  • Maintain physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of store layout and store product a plus.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist POS Lead with resetting merchandise according to schematics.
  • Utilizes email notifications to process tags for shelf placement.
  • Maintains tag placement presentation standards on the shelf.
  • Ensures that proper stickers and labels are placed as required.
  • Uses schematics to ensure proper presentation of products on shelves.
  • Utilizes necessary programs and equipment to verify product price integrity as needed.
  • Process replacement tags and signage as needed.
  • Report issues to store management and retail support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
