Alabama Ag Credit is a financial institution that provides financing for agriculture, agribusiness and rural real estate purchases and improvements. The institution is headquartered in Montgomery with ten offices that service the lower 40 counties of Alabama. With over $1.5 billion in assets, the institution is a cooperative and part of the nationwide Farm Credit System. This position provides support to the Capital Markets and Agribusiness division through underwriting, negotiating, structuring, and monitoring of portfolios. This position will cover middle to upper level market companies in a wide range of industry. The role involves assessing the credit and financial strength of the Association’s Capital Markets portfolio by performing fundamental credit analysis on individual portfolio companies, maintaining and building financial models to incorporate forward-looking risk assessment on key value drivers, and recommending loan investment opportunities, extensions, and amendments for approval. The position also requires analyzing financial information to ascertain credit worthiness, determining internal Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) ratings, and monitoring loans for proper risk rating and performance status assignments. Loan servicing tasks such as partial releases, subordinations, re-amortizations, assumptions, severance agreements, and amendments are also part of the responsibilities. The role includes working directly with lending staff on credit decisions, preparing reports for management, and interpreting/communicating association lending policies and procedures to loan officers. Compliance with credit administration practices is essential. Travel of 25-50% is required.
