About The Position

The Portfolio Reporting & Analytics Analyst – EPMO is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise portfolio reporting, analytics, dashboards, and executive-level communications that support organizational decision-making. This role serves as a key contributor within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), providing visibility into portfolio performance, project health, strategic initiative progress, resource utilization, and organizational priorities. The Portfolio Reporting & Analytics Analyst – EPMO partners closely with business stakeholders, project teams, program leadership, information technology, finance, and executive leadership to collect, validate, analyze, and present portfolio data. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining Smartsheet reports and dashboards, Power BI reporting solutions, portfolio KPIs, governance reporting, and executive-level report-outs used in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews. This role combines analytical expertise, data visualization, portfolio management knowledge, and executive communication skills to transform project and portfolio data into actionable insights that support organizational strategy and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; business analytics, information systems, data analytics, finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in portfolio reporting, business intelligence, data analytics, PMO operations, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience developing Power BI dashboards and executive reporting solutions required.
  • Advanced knowledge of portfolio reporting, business intelligence, and data analytics principles.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, Power Query, and DAX.
  • Strong experience with Smartsheet reporting, dashboards, and portfolio management solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to develop executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and visual presentations.
  • Understanding of project, program, and portfolio management principles and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of project management metrics, KPIs, governance reporting, and performance management frameworks.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex information in a concise and meaningful manner to executive leadership.
  • Experience gathering reporting requirements and translating business needs into reporting solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO), Enterprise PMO (EPMO), Portfolio Management, or Program Management environment preferred.
  • Experience administering and reporting from the Smartsheet platform strongly preferred.
  • Experience with portfolio management, project management, governance reporting, and KPI development preferred.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership reporting and strategic decision-making preferred.
  • Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Power BI certification preferred but not required.
  • PMP, CAPM, PMI-PBA, or related certification is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and enhances enterprise portfolio dashboards, reports, and analytics using Power BI, Smartsheet, Excel, and other reporting tools.
  • Serves as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for EPMO reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Designs and maintains executive dashboards that provide visibility into project health, portfolio performance, strategic initiatives, resource utilization, risks, and key performance indicators.
  • Develops reporting standards, data definitions, KPI frameworks, and portfolio metrics to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Collects, validates, analyzes, and reconciles project, financial, resource, and portfolio data from multiple systems and sources.
  • Identifies portfolio trends, risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities and provides actionable recommendations to EPMO leadership.
  • Produces and distributes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reports for leadership and governance committees.
  • Supports executive governance meetings by preparing presentation materials, scorecards, dashboards, and supporting analytics.
  • Creates and maintains portfolio health metrics, project performance indicators, and organizational performance reporting.
  • Supports demand management, capacity planning, resource planning, and portfolio prioritization activities through data analysis and reporting.
  • Develops and maintains Power BI datasets, dashboards, data models, calculated measures, and visualizations.
  • Partners with project managers, program managers, and business leaders to ensure reporting requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Monitors portfolio reporting accuracy and performs ongoing data quality assessments and corrective actions.
  • Develops executive-level presentations and report-outs using data visualization and storytelling techniques.
  • Supports EPMO governance processes by tracking and reporting project status, milestones, risks, issues, budgets, benefits realization, and strategic alignment.
  • Recommends and implements reporting process improvements, automation opportunities, and dashboard enhancements.
  • Maintains documentation for reporting processes, KPI definitions, dashboard specifications, and reporting procedures.
  • Provides reporting and analytics support for annual planning, strategic initiatives, and organizational performance reviews.
  • Supports audits and compliance activities related to project and portfolio reporting.
  • Participates in EPMO continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
