About The Position

Applied Materials is experiencing rapid growth, driving expansion in headcount, facilities, and global workplace strategy. The Global Workplace & Infrastructure (GWI) organization is modernizing its workplace portfolio and strengthening the data, process, and governance foundations needed to operate as an AI-ready organization. The Portfolio Planner - New College Graduate (NCG) role is designed for early-career professionals interested in workplace planning, portfolio strategy, and data-driven decision-making. In an AI-readiness team, this role supports the preparation of trusted, standardized, and well-governed workplace data, enabling better analytics, automation, and more scalable planning decisions across the portfolio. During the first 12-18 months, this position may include structured learning and rotational exposure across facilities and workplace functions, with increasing focus on AI readiness areas such as data quality, data governance, process standardization, reporting automation, and adoption of digital planning tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, Facility Management, or related field.
  • Graduation within NCG eligibility window.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, academic projects).

Responsibilities

  • Support short-term and long-term office supply and demand planning using trusted, standardized workplace data.
  • Assist in preparation, automation, and publication of bi-annual planning reports.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze workplace and portfolio data to ensure quality, consistency, and AI readiness.
  • Support scenario planning and portfolio reviews enabled by data-driven analytics.
  • Assist in headcount and move planning coordination using accurate, well-governed data.
  • Learn and use space management and digital planning tools (e.g., CAFM).
  • Assist with asset data accuracy, documentation, governance, and closeout deliverables.
  • Support development of workplace and space planning options informed by analytics and reporting automation.
  • Partner with Facilities, Real Estate, Business Units, Design, GIS, Security, Construction, and Workplace Services to align on data standards and definitions.
  • Participate in planning meetings and cross-functional discussions on process standardization and AI readiness.
  • Serve as a collaborative contact for internal stakeholders on data, reporting, and automation needs.
  • Gain exposure to complex facilities and R&D workplace environments.
  • Learn industry best practices in safety, reliability, workplace operations, and data governance.
  • Build foundational skills in global workplace and portfolio planning, data quality, and reporting automation.
  • Develop a long-term career path within GWI through mentoring and rotational experience.
