About The Position

Portfolio Officer manages the loan portfolio to review loan portfolio quality and recommend loan risk grading, renew maturing loans, monitor problem loan status, and identify business opportunities from the portfolio. Performs cash flow analysis, financial spread and credit memo.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, with a focus in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with an aptitude for business and customer interaction.
  • Must be efficient with cooperative work habits, while managing time to account for a sudden fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient with business office and computer programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Minimum three years’ experience with commercial real estate as a loan assistant, loan closer, or portfolio banker.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Contact borrowers for loans that are maturing and collect required documents.
  • Perform term loan reviews and credit memos, and report issues to account officers, recommending loan risk grading.
  • Monitor and report the TLR status and work with customers to resolve issues.
  • Identify and discuss new business opportunities from the portfolio to propose new loans.
  • Schedule renewals and re-pricing timely to maintain the loan portfolio.
  • Assist account officers in performing cash flow analysis and financial spreads for new loan requests.
  • Work closely with account officers and underwriters to ensure all documents needed for closing the loan have been received and reviewed for compliance with credit approval memos and program requirements.
  • Collect and order documents from various parties according to checklists and credit approval memos, including entity documents, title documents, escrow-related documents, compliance documents, credit reports, insurance evidence, flood certifications, UCC statements, estoppel certificates, SNDA, etc.
  • Assist in engaging appraisal, appraisal review, and environmental from approved vendors.
  • Review all documents and forms to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Timely upload all documents to the database and update LoanVantage / Loan Status Log.
  • Complete CIP / CDD forms (Customer Identification Program / Customer Due Diligence).
  • Perform initial review of loan documents.
  • Ensure final loan documents and forms are properly executed, recorded, and delivered as appropriate.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, bank references, and CPA verification requests.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.
