About The Position

The Portfolio Manager II-SAMG is responsible for assisting Strategic Asset Management (SAM) lenders with closely monitoring collateral position and financial performance, including comparisons to budget/plans, as well as monitoring covenants.

Requirements

  • 4-year business-related college degree with at least 6 hours of accounting and/or relevant experience
  • 2+ Years of commercial banking experience including credit underwriting.
  • Demonstrates comprehension and application of strong financial analysis skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to be a self-starter and show initiative.
  • Demonstrates strong level of understanding of credit underwriting.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret policies / procedures, loan contracts, and understanding of credit reports, financial statements, and loan documents.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, FIS, Net Image and Capital Stream
  • Demonstrates ability to work with diverse teams that encompass all levels of associates from various areas of the Bank, by phone and in person.
  • Demonstrates strong written & verbal communication skills, including difficult conversations with distressed borrowers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commercial lending transaction documentation, including legal documentation, collateral perfection, legal and regulatory requirements, and policy exceptions.

  • 1+ Years of cash flow and asset-based lending experience, identification or risk and satisfactory underwriting of same.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the write-ups of credit requests.
  • Keep loan documentation files updated as information is obtained.
  • Assist with engaging field exams and appraisals as needed.
  • Manage onboarding of new credit facilities to SAM.
  • Assist with updating Loan Ranking Worksheets.
  • Assist with the clearing of tickler exceptions.
  • Upload documents into Capital Stream.
  • Assist SAM Lenders in the creation of spreadsheets and other reports.
  • Maintain strong professional relationship(s) with originating loan officers and staff associated with the credits.
  • Work with other UMB groups as required & needed (i.e. Bankcard, Treasury, Capital Corp, Operations, etc.).
  • Attend loan committee meetings as needed.
  • Assigned to manage smaller deals with assistance from Loan Officer and / or Manager.
  • Assist with the preparations of impairment analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
