About The Position

The Portfolio Manager supports the commercial lending team by managing and servicing a portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring credit quality, risk management, and customer relationship support. This role plays a key part in helping the bank maintain strong, community-based business relationships while supporting the growth and profitability of the loan portfolio.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or portfolio management.
Strong understanding of commercial loan structures, underwriting, and financial statement analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and banking software systems.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for existing commercial clients within an assigned portfolio, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Conduct regular portfolio reviews and risk assessments to ensure timely renewals, covenant compliance, and overall credit quality.
Analyze financial statements, prepare credit memos, and make recommendations for loan renewals, modifications, and reviews.
Work closely with Commercial Lenders to support new business opportunities, including preparing term sheets and gathering necessary documentation.
Monitor ongoing performance of loans including past due payments, overdrafts, and changes in borrower condition or industry.
Identify and escalate any credit or compliance issues to senior management.
Partner with credit analysts and loan operations to ensure smooth documentation, booking, and servicing of loans.
Support the bank's commitment to the local community by participating in business and civic activities as appropriate.
Comply with all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act
