As a Portfolio Manager III within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Chicago, IL or New York, NY. We are seeking a highly experienced Portfolio Manager III to lead a complex portfolio of strategic technology initiatives focused on enterprise resilience, cloud modernization, data center transformation, migration programs, and production readiness. This role will oversee the end-to-end portfolio lifecycle, ensuring programs align with business strategy, risk management frameworks, governance requirements, and operational resiliency objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep experience driving large-scale technology and financial transformation initiatives within highly regulated environments.

Requirements

  • Experience in program, portfolio, or transformation management within large, complex organizations.
  • Experience leading portfolios involving cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, data center migration, resiliency, or enterprise technology programs.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, governance frameworks, cybersecurity, and regulatory environments.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale technology and business transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional executive communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Background in financial transformation, enterprise transformation, or strategic advisory services.
  • Experience working with AI, advanced analytics, big data, and data governance initiatives.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, production readiness processes, and enterprise resiliency frameworks.
  • University / college degree.
  • Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of enterprise-scale initiatives supporting resilience, cloud hosting, data center modernization, infrastructure transformation, migration, and path-to-production activities.
  • Establish portfolio strategy, priorities, governance, and execution frameworks that align with organizational objectives and technology roadmaps.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across technology, security, operations, risk, and business stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Monitor portfolio health, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Oversee modernization initiatives focused on cloud adoption, hosting solutions, application migration, and production readiness.
  • Support enterprise capabilities that leverage well-curated data, big data platforms, advanced analytics, and AI-driven solutions.
  • Partner with technology leaders to ensure scalable, resilient, and future-ready architectures are implemented across the portfolio.
  • Lead governance efforts related to emerging technologies, including AI-enabled platforms and solutions.
  • Ensure strong controls, risk management practices, and compliance frameworks are embedded throughout portfolio execution.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to establish protections against evolving AI-related threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Promote best-in-class security practices and resiliency standards across all programs and initiatives.
  • Develop trusted relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Communicate portfolio performance, investment outcomes, risks, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Drive decision-making through data-driven insights, metrics, and governance forums.
  • Manage portfolio budgets, investment planning, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Lead business cases and value realization efforts to ensure strategic investments deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, process improvement, and transformation across the portfolio.
  • Manages the facilitation and coordination of all assigned portfolios. Leads the highest complexity of portfolios which require planning, oversight, and communication across multiple segments channels or lines of business. Typically, portfolio size may be greater than $70m.
  • Manages the development and approval process for strategic initiative governance for assigned portfolios.
  • Participates in the development and review of analysis and reporting information related to key strategic portfolio milestones.
  • Oversight and accountability for the portfolio budget while working to ensure success of the portfolio.
  • Acts as a mentor to other portfolio managers. Works across multi-disciplinary functions, and manages vender relationships to ensure success of the portfolio. Consults with project and program managers/teams as needed.
