The Director, Enterprise Portfolio Office Governance Execution & Decision Enablement, is a team manager responsible for leading the Governance Execution & Decision Enablement pillar and driving delivery of its core deliverables. The role owns the governance operating cadence and decision enablement routines that convert portfolio and program information into clear decisions, ownership, escalation paths and follow-through. The Director manages pillar coverage, sets service expectations, coaches and develops team members, ensures high-quality executive materials and forum readiness, and provides consolidated visibility into risks, issues, dependencies and blockers across the enterprise portfolio. This leader partners closely with Portfolio Advisory and Standards, Controls, Data & Continuous Improvement to reduce administrative burden, strengthen decision quality and enable accountable execution.

Requirements

• More than 10 years of related experience in portfolio management, PMO/EPMO, governance, program delivery, business management, strategy execution or a related discipline, including experience leading teams or managing delivery through others.
• Master’s or advanced degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading or managing teams responsible for executive committees, governance forums, portfolio councils, executive-level workflows or senior management review routines.
• Demonstrated ability to set operating rhythm, manage delivery commitments, allocate team capacity and coach staff across adjacent governance and decision enablement activities.
• Strong organizational leadership with experience overseeing calendars, agendas, materials, decision logs, action trackers, escalations and follow-through routines.
• Ability to synthesize complex program and portfolio information into clear decision points, options, risks, dependencies and executive-ready communications.
• Working knowledge of risk, issue, dependency, change control and portfolio health reporting practices, with the ability to create enterprise-level visibility for senior leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across business, technology, risk, finance and delivery teams in a complex organization while driving accountability and simplification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; experience with project or portfolio management tools such as Planview and JIRA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Governance Execution & Decision Enablement pillar, including team priorities, operating rhythm, delivery commitments, coverage model and stakeholder service expectations.
• Manage and develop a team responsible for enterprise governance forums, Committee readiness, executive materials, decision quality, action tracking, escalation support and RAID/dependency visibility.
• Own execution of enterprise governance forums through clear agendas, pre-reads, decision asks, materials, meeting outcomes and post-forum communications.
• Set and enforce committee readiness standards, including submission calendars, content expectations, review cycles, readiness checks and follow-up with initiative and program teams.
• Ensure action, escalation, decision record and follow-through routines are consistently maintained so decisions are documented, owners are assigned and next steps are tracked to closure.
• Guide the team in translating complex portfolio and program topics into clear decision points, options, impacts, risks and recommended escalation pathways.
• Provide senior leadership with consolidated visibility into risks, issues, dependencies, blockers and change control items requiring governance attention or leadership decisions.
• Partner with Portfolio Advisory and Standards, Controls, Data & Continuous Improvement leaders to strengthen input quality, reporting consistency and executive material standards.
• Drive rationalization of forums, meetings and reporting routines to reduce administrative burden while improving decision quality, accountability and transparency.
• Prepare and present regular program and portfolio status updates, insights and recommendations for senior leadership and key stakeholders in coordination with portfolio partners.
