Portfolio & Launch Lead - Canola This opportunity strives to: innovative canola acre solutions, ensuring they are delivered to customers and developed using differentiated products and services strategically deployed through Bayer Crop Science (BCS) Go to Market (GTM) partners in North America and Australia, New Zealand (ANZ); ensure the Canola Strategic Business Plan (SBP) is achieved across indications for the overall canola acre, developed in alignment with local and global goals and teams; and the customer experience makes steady, meaningful gains to enable DEKALB as the preferred canola brand (build trust, raise confidence, increase consideration). Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a permanent position based out of Calgary, Alberta.

Requirements

  • Product Management experience leading a portfolio strategy, including short and long-term, financial planning and delivery (agriculture industry is preferred)
  • Ability to lead and influence key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities; facilitates solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing activities of cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships
  • Strategic, critical thinker across complex situations; Understanding of ROI on key investments
  • Analytical skills (comprehension of basic statistics, mastery of MS Excel and/or other data analysis and visualization tools).
  • Strong business acumen
  • Results orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously across multiple markets and countries
  • Active engagement and peer coaching across a network of teams
  • Excellent English oral, written and communication skills to onboard, motivate & engage others at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall Canola acre product portfolio and ensure effective product portfolio decisions Life Cycle Management (LCM) that will meet customer needs and Bayer Crop Science financial and regenerative ag goals.
  • Work within a cross-functional team responsible for the development and delivery of the crop’s rolling, five-year SBP resulting in supported annual objectives and across all indications. This includes determining the Gross-to-Net (pricing and market funding) for canola germplasm and trait products, collaboration with CP and digital colleagues for total acre solutions across all other indications (Digital, CP and SGR); aligned with the customer facing teams' targets as well as Regional CP Product Team goals.
  • Collaborate with customer facing teams responsible to execute price and lead creation and deployment of annual marketing campaigns, production planning volumes, and product pricing.
  • Collaborate and co-create within Canola, Cereals & Biofuels Product Team and with all needed stakeholders to realize best opportunities for Bayer and customers.
  • Lead the team to develop and implement contingency plans around broad in-season issues while providing leadership on other Commercial Operations Teams as needed.
  • Accountable for collaborative leadership on major marketing tactics and to establish market funding budgets that drive overall sales in line with the strategic plan. Collaborate with key Marketing Leads who are responsible to execute price and lead creation of annual marketing & communication campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry dynamics including competitive trait offerings and Market Share.
  • Guide development of germplasm and trait portfolios within our brand families to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with customer facing teams to understand customer needs, product performance, future strategies and annual seed supply forecasting, delivery and allocation process.
  • Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with Bayer Safety, compliance and Sustainability Policies.
