About The Position

HarbourVest is seeking a Portfolio Associate for its Portfolio Construction & Allocation team within the Enterprise Investment Office. This role supports investment teams in capital raising and investing, portfolio monitoring, and business operations improvement. The position offers exposure to portfolio construction, investment allocations, fund management, portfolio analysis and reporting for commingled funds and separately managed accounts, as well as ad-hoc requests. The Associate will also act as a liaison with various internal departments such as Investor Relations, Client Experience, Solutions, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Legal/Compliance, as well as other Portfolio Operations teams globally. This role is hybrid, offering 18 remote workdays per quarter. The ideal candidate is an analytical, organized, and creative problem-solver with strong attention to detail, who can work independently and communicate effectively across all levels and teams.

Requirements

  • Background in Private Markets preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DealCloud, and Intralinks.
  • 3-5 Years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and present materials for internal and external quarterly portfolio reviews and updates.
  • Prepare portfolio construction and allocation materials for HarbourVest Committees.
  • Analyze fund capacity, reserves, investment allocation, and investment performance.
  • Participate in investment group discussions regarding the evaluation of commitments.
  • Leverage data, create templates, and maintain standardized/recurring analysis to support strategy team metrics.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve business activities and address investment team needs through technology.
  • Prepare, maintain, and present materials for existing clients, including fund updates, portfolio updates, data room management, and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.
