Portfolio Analyst

About The Position

The Portfolio Analyst role puts you at the intersection of quantitative research, portfolio construction, and live investment decision-making. You'll own or assist in critical parts of the investment process, from signal validation to portfolio risk management, with direct visibility into how your work affects real capital allocation in multi-billion dollar quant equity hedge fund strategies. You'll work alongside a team of Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts, with the opportunity to shape how strategies are implemented and improved.

Requirements

Undergraduate and/or graduate coursework in accounting, finance, statistics, computer science, economics, or mathematics
Coding experience required, Python preferred
Recent Graduates encouraged to apply
Deep interest in investing and the financial markets
Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated track record of self-directed projects or research
Strong sense of integrity

Responsibilities

Work with portfolio managers on day-to-day portfolio management workflows, including validating the implementation of the investment strategies
Analyze the output of our portfolio construction process to ensure the integrity of our investment philosophy and improve the outcomes
Work with team in identifying and championing new alpha and risk management ideas from concept through to implementation
Design tools for evaluating and improving portfolio implementation and performance
Assist in signal enhancement initiatives in partnership with research teams, and develop independent research ideas with a clear path to production
Assist in the analytical narrative for client communications and presentations
Work across teams within Man Group to solve investment, technical, and operational challenges
