About The Position

The Portfolio Analyst (PA) serves as a subject matter resource for assigned T. Rowe Price investment strategies and represents those portfolios across the firm. The PA is primarily responsible for analyzing investment portfolios and developing institutional-level portfolio analysis, messaging, and content to inform key stakeholders. The PA leverages the time of portfolio managers, portfolio specialists, and senior analysts while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity of investment messaging. The role requires adaptability, strong execution skills, curiosity about data sources, and a commitment to building investment and strategy-specific knowledge over time. For this position, the PA will initially focus on providing support to our Investment-Grade debt strategies through analysis, data aggregation, and other content generation, while retaining responsibility for validation, interpretation, and quality control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct portfolio analysis incorporating market conditions, competitor analysis, asset class characteristics, portfolio construction, and positioning.
  • Execute responsibilities using AI-enabled analytics and automation to aggregate data, perform recurring analysis, identify comparisons, and generate initial analytical outputs, subject to appropriate human review.
  • Create custom, time-sensitive analysis by refining and validating outputs to ensure analytical accuracy, consistency, and alignment with approved investment messaging.
  • Actively develop fluency in investment data sources, including understanding where to source specific types of data, how data is constructed, and key limitations or considerations associated with its use.
  • Build and maintain subject matter knowledge of assigned portfolios, benchmarks, peers, and portfolio manager positioning through ongoing analysis, interaction with investment partners, and review of investment materials.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly strategy updates with senior review and guidance.
  • Support portfolio managers and specialists in responding to client, consultant, and internal inquiries.
  • Assist with the creation of presentations, exhibits, and analysis; identify and employ opportunities to leverage AI to improve speed, consistency, and scalability of outputs.
  • Support RFPs and written commentaries ensuring outputs are aligned with approved content and reviewed for accuracy.
  • Participate in education, onboarding, and training efforts to build understanding of investment strategies, markets, and asset classes.
