About The Position

The Porter operates passenger and freight elevators and assists guests, clients, executives, and VIPs in navigating the building and Conference Center. The role sets up conference and event rooms, performs daily cleaning at assigned areas at 11 Wall and 18 Broad Street, responds to service calls and emergencies, and maintains supply and storage areas. The position may also require snow and ice removal near building entrances and assistance with deliveries and event equipment. The day shift is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, though hours may change at management’s discretion. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

Minimum of six months of related experience.
Ability to move or lift heavy or bulky objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.
Presentable appearance.
Ability to communicate and interact clearly with internal and external customers and assist with Conference Center navigation.
Careful attention to safety and correct lifting techniques to avoid injury.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate the passenger elevator for daily bell groups, client meetings, VIP guest visits, and executive officers.
Interact professionally with clients, executives, VIPs, and other guests.
Interpret elevator and room reservation schedules to provide information and direct guests to the proper locations throughout the building.
Set up and arrange chairs, furniture, and special equipment in conference and event rooms on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 17th floors.
Perform daily cleaning in assigned work areas at 11 Wall and 18 Broad Street.
Respond to special service calls or emergencies involving spillage, breakage, leakage, flooding, and similar incidents.
Remove snow or ice at or near building entrances.
Keep supply bins and the storage room neat and clean.
Operate the freight elevator and/or assist with loading and unloading deliveries, equipment, large volumes of event materials, and other bulky items for NYSE departments.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Work overtime when needed.
