About The Position

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of assigned facilities and surrounding grounds. The role supports building operations through routine cleaning, waste removal, material transport, and facility support tasks to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for occupants and visitors.

Work may take place in commercial buildings, office complexes, educational facilities, healthcare environments, residential communities, transportation hubs, or other public facilities. Duties may be performed indoors and outdoors, including in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous porter, janitorial, custodial, facilities, or general labor experience.
• Customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of building entrances, lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and common areas.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of trash and recycling throughout the facility.
• Clean and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Perform routine cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning.
• Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns to management.
• Assist with furniture movement, event setup, and special projects as needed.
• Remove debris and litter from building grounds, parking areas, and exterior walkways.
• Clean glass surfaces, doors, and windows within reach.
• Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, and customer service requests.
• Maintain supply inventories and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
• Follow company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
