About The Position

The Porter is a key member of the store team responsible for maintaining buildings and facilities in a clean, sanitary condition in accordance with TravelCenters of America standards. The role helps provide customers with a pleasant environment and a clean, sanitary place to visit. The team member works in a customer-service-focused environment and follows safety and security procedures while carrying out cleaning assignments. The role may also include other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Ability to talk and hear regularly.
Ability to occasionally stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and repetitively use the legs.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move heavy objects.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; tasks may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Clean all areas of the facility as directed and provide guests with a clean, sanitary environment.
Follow safety and security guidelines and procedures; identify and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or guests, and take corrective action when necessary.
Use protective equipment properly and safely.
Know the quantities and types of cleaning supplies used for each cleaning assignment.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
